HI Jenna... you had asked about tips for doing things. I'm still watching the video but I am at the 4:43 mark where you are choosing a camera direction. One easy thing to do is to select the camera and on the keyboard prest ALT+R to clear the rotation, and ALT+G to reset it's position to the 3D cursor which is usually center of the scene. Then you can just move it on the Z axis for top down, or rotate it on the X for a front view.. etc. The alt+r and alt+g works one most if not all objects in blender. Hope this helps.

There is literally a drawing tool in blender. You can select it, when you start blender.
