How do you decide if a watch is too large or too small? Some people like big watches and some don't, and today we're going to help a viewer make a decision about to Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra models that are exactly the same, except the size.

Thanks for watching!

I love my Vostoks. I have an Omega, several Seikos, Orients etc. My go to watch is always the Vostok. Sure, not the most accurate but easy to regulate. The bezel tightens up under pressure. Been tested to 800 meters before failing. Been frozen in ice and boiled for a minute. No effect on the watch. Next on my list is the Vostok Zissou. The one Bill Murray wears in life aquatic.
Vostoks have also been in space.
For me it's not a matter of price. They're just great but sure, an acquired taste.

This watch is 80% Russian Tank.. And 20% Swatch. You will fall in love with these watches in spite of yourself. Never get tired of seeing mine on my wrist.

Unlike a Speedmaster it can go to space and it can go under water. I have no idea why they put 200 meters water resistance on them, there are loads of people that have taken them to crazy depths in pressure tests. Someoen guy pressure tested one and it broke at 820 meters. They are good to 500 meters at least.

Not to mention the Poljot Strela was the first watch in space and the first watch in a space walk, as usual everyone forgets that.

I am one of the people who love the Vostok watches mainly for the "retro-futuristic" look many of them have. They have that 60's sci-fi look to them that i adore and I am more than willing to accept their flaws and odd choices of finishing just to get a smile on my face whenever i look down on my wrist to check the (approximate) time! #WCW

I have watched quite a few videos concerning the Vostok Amphibia watches. Mine is the sniper face version that has been mildly modded. It has a stainless crown, a stainless and slightly smaller bezel, and the bracelet is the woven Vostok factory one. I have no complaints at all about this watch. Does it keep perfect time? Nope. Do I care so much that I can`t move the hands once in a while? Nope. The case is the highly polished one, and this is a darned good looking watch that is comfortable to wear, and that`s all I care about.

A big part of the joy of owning a Vostok Amphibia, to me at least, is the inexpensive nature and modability. For those of us to like to tinker and are not watchmakers, I think this provides a great option.

If I saw someone in my office with this watch, I would know they were a watch guy, regardless if it's a cheap beater!

I feel like the wobbly crown is a misunderstood feature on Vostoks (though I could be completely wrong). It makes more sense when you think of it as a way to negate the need for the spring loaded crown/stem found in most threaded crown watches. When the crown is screwed out, there are small spines that mesh the crown and the stem together (within the crown itself) allowing the user to turn the stem. When the crown is pushed in for rethreading, this disengages the splines (hence the wobble), allowing the crown to thread into the case without turning the stem simultaneously. Essentially, aside from the setting position, the stem never moves from the winding position, and can be made as a single piece, as opposed to two pieces with a tiny spring that require the user to physically press the crown in while threading, potentially imparting strain on the keyless works.
Again, I could be wrong, but from an engineering and manufacturing perspective this seems to make more sense.
Awesome video Guy, keep it up! I have a couple of Vostoks and think they're cool, durable, fun watches for what they are.

I barely learned that Vostok was in space and Vostok doesn’t jack up prices just because of that like Omega.

I have my Komandirskie on my wrist at the moment and I love it. Been eyeing the blue Scubadude for a while now and will probably pull the trigger on it pretty soon!
Great review :)

I have 120 case design which I bought from meranom, it was running a little fast for my liking so I decided to regulate it myself. When worn the watch is now accurate to within 1 second a day, when laid flat for approximately 8 hours (bedtime) it gains 7 seconds. I replaced the bezel for a fixed one and put the watch on a nice leather strap- it’s one of my favourite watches now!👍🇬🇧

Vostok was on Yuri Gagarins wrist in space. So better history than most.

Wow, Just Blue Fish replies to every comment! Hats off. This was an objective review even though I don't necessarily agree (admitted Vostok fan). It should be noted that it is mandatory by International law to mod them. Seriously, many models are cartoonish and kitschy. Changing the bracelet makes a huge difference. I just can't pull the trigger on The Dude but there are many other tasteful models. And yes, there is a big difference between Vostok and Vostok Europe. #wcw

I have one and LOVE it. It's rated to 600 meters, however, I'm the last person to do any diving but it's good to know that no liquid will ruin it. Very simple, affordable watch which is amazingly durable.

Bent stems are a huge issue... Try working with cold hands in snow, ice or while zeroing time in with dive buddies in and out of cold water. This is why the Rolex dive masters have the oversized bumpers which are crude and make the watch heavy. So the Vostok has a genius solution respect to the engineers

As for the accuracy, how many of you are going to use an atomic clock to set the second hand dead on zero ? And If you are not using an atomic clock to set time it is almost guaranteed that the clock or watch you are setting the time from is already off by maybe a minute or 2 if not more so -20 plus 60 Does not play a single roll over 24 hours for mission or diving for which this watch was designed. Average dive session is less than an hour 😊

I have the 420 case with the 512 dial. I brushed the case and installed new crown, and a new plain bezel (also brushed). Love the minimalist look with no date

I've ordered one a few days ago with a few mods and I can't wait to get my hands on it. These watches are not for everyone's taste and I bought mine, because I want a tough and rugged outdoor/field beater watch while most people want a super cool flashy looking watchs that are going to draw a lot of attention, which is ok. I'm also a Seiko and Grand Seiko fan and I own 3 Seikos and one spring drive GS, but I wouldn't want to use any of them as a beater watch. G-shocks are probably ever better option as beaters, but i'm not really a fan of battery powered watches even though some look really nice. #WCW

I’ve just ordered my third Amphibia. I love them, they have a unique history and a 200 metre plus dive for around £60 they are incredible value. I don’t like the metal strap but the rubber one isn’t that bad. I don’t go for the models with the date, I have a collection and wearing it every two weeks or so and moving the date on would be painful. I go for the rubber strap models or swap out for a NATO. I’ve modded the bezel on two of them. I see someone wearing a Vostok and I know they are a watch man. Struggling to see 60% reflected in the comments here.

I love how the Amphibia's case back uses water pressure to make the watch more resistant. It symbolizes to me something about becoming stronger when the going gets tought. And I love the scuba dude. But I will concede that the strap is the weakest link which makes the sponsorship by Wrist Candy Watch so perfect. #WCW

I already have 4, one of them is spot on in timekeeping. So I think You have to be lucky when You buy a Vostok.
