Father & Son Preserving Traditional Balinese Font

A story about two generations of Balinese, a father and his son, doing their best with their own unique way preserving the old heritage of Balinese's ancestors, the traditional Balinese alphabet or Aksara Bali.

The common and widely use of Roman alphabet all across Indonesia had made the local native alphabets that developed way earlier in Nusantara seems to be left behind by society, especially young generation.

To preserve Aksara Bali in the digital era, the father became part of a team who made attempt to make Balinese alphabet recognized by international organization, Unicode. While his son, developed the balinese font's software, in the hope to encourage more young generation to use the balinese font on their daily digital life.
