Показать описание
How do we know how the Earth is doing, climate-wise? We monitor it. Engineer Tom Wilson talks about the many collaborative ocean and atmospheric monitoring projects around the world and why they matter to our Earth's climate future.
Engineer Tom Wilson designs machines (meteorological and hydrological sensors) that monitor our Earth's oceans. He is the manager of the Instrument Laboratory of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University. His design credits include over 50 major items of scientific and oceanographic equipment. He has provided technical support to over 200 research projects at numerous institutions in the US and abroad, including sea time on 11 major research cruises in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Mediterranean. He is a founding member of the Research Vessel Technical Enhancement Committee of UNOLS, the coordinating organization for the US academic research vessel fleet.
