Why MSC Cruises Are So Different to Other Cruise Lines

Have you ever considered an MSC Cruise? Wondering if they're a good alternative to the cruise lines that you've cruised with in the past? I've cruise with MSC multiple times as well as many other cruise lines.

I love cruising with MSC but wouldn't recommend them to everybody. In this video, we will discuss why and what makes MSC cruises so different.

It's important to note that if you are considering an MSC for a British Isles cruise that announcements won't be done in multiple languages, the food, and experience onboard will still have an Italian flair though! ;)

Some people are happy everywhere they go and others are never happy. Thanks for your reviews/information.

I never walk on a ship with a closed mind or compare companies. Every cruise is different and every crue is different. I'm always happy no matter what. I'm on holiday I chose not to let the first world issue bother me. 😃😃👍👍🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺

This is BY FAR the best analysis I have seen about MSC. Mostly we hear the criticisms, but you give a well-rounded picture with great details. We usually do more traditional cruises like Celebrity, but we have done Costa with no expectations and it was fine. Different, very European, but that's why we travel, to immerse ourselves in a different culture. After your review, I see we could definitely do MSC. Thanks, Emma

My wife and I sailed on the MSC Seaside out of Florida (14 days) back in late Feb 2020 (barely made it off before COVID shut everything down) and we loved it! We normally cruise Carnival, but have sailed R/C, Princess, and Celebrity and we preferred MSC above all of them (we have 20+ cruises under our belts). Our next itinerary is on the Meraviglia in October (we hope, anyway) and are taking our entire family b/c we know how much the grand-kids will love it (especially the Ocean Cay private Island...fabulous!). One thing we both loved were the shows (we saw all of them)...we normally don't care for cruise productions, but the Michael Jackson tribute; Cirque Du Soleil; and the Madame Butterfly version were absolutely stunning!

One of the best cruise companies, IMO (oh yeah, the pizza was out of this world) ;-)

My first cruise was with MSC cruise to the Caribbean and I did see those bad reviews and I was nervous about it before we boarded but once we got there, I absolutely loved it. We had a balcony cabin that was really good size. The food was amazing, and the crew was so, so nice to us. The shows every night were great. We had movie nights by the pool at night. I really enjoyed it. But you are so right about the italian aspect, you can definitely feel it on the ship which I don't think it's a bad thing or a good thing, you are just aware of it from the music, the food, the ambiance, etc. Overall, it felt like being in a very fancy european hotel.

I have done 6 cruises with 5 different lines. MSC is the only one I've cruised for a second time, with a third one booked. It's easily my favorite among NCL, RCL, Princess and Celebrity.

Just went on MSC Virtuosa and having read bad reviews we were sceptical, but we ended up having a great time on a beautiful ship and this review is spot on about pretty much everything we experienced.

MSC is very laid back and the dining room is nice. They don’t look you up and down to see if they will let you eat in the dining room. Very nice.

That was so fun to watch because I work for MSC (Shop Seller onboard) and to hear that from the passenger's perspective was quite interesting! Anyway, from my side, we really try to make your cruises unforgettable, and we work hard for it! :)

I 100% agree about the food and entertainment. In my opinion, as an italian cruiser, I think they are trying to become THE main cruise company for non-english native speakers. I never tried an american or english cruise line (like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL, P&O, Princess etc) but I guess the only language spoken onboard is english. There are many (older) foreign cruisers who do not speak english but still want to cruise around the world, so MSC might be the right choice for them too!

Hi Emma! I’ve just joined MSC, on the Magnifica in Guest Services. I’m 47, making me the oldest person they’ve ever hired in this role! I’m looking forward to the experience as it’s my first time on a cruise ship.

I have been on cruise for four times with MSC and I have loved it every time again. The food is very good( especially the pizza’s ). The next cruise I booked already again with MSC in Northern Europe this year. I am looking forward for this one

MSC is my new favorite line. You can't compete with them on value/quality. Booked the Divinia last minute in 2018 and paid $219/PP FOR A 7 DAY BALCONY ROOM. That was less than $800 TOTAL for a WEEK in a BALCONY stateroom. Merviglia was also great. Looking forward to the seaside next.

we've only went on ONE cruise with a 5 year old and 11 year old. we were so impressed. it was the virtuosa. we had insanely good food, the kids had their bland boring stuff. the service was amazing. and it was lovely having such a diverse crew! so many south africans. <3

On an MSC cruise, go to the MDR on Italian Night. They have a very entertaining wait and kitchen staff putting on a show. The service otherwise is very efficient and amicable. All of the Americans complain about all of the languages during the daily announcements. They're just used to the rest of the world speaking their language for them.

I loved MSC and I've cruised on Carnival and Norwegian.

I have been on Celebrity, HA, Princess and MSC. I was worried about the bad reviews but as it turned out, the bad reviews were 99% nonsense. MSC Meriviglia actually surpassed the others in Entertainment and Pricing. GREAT variety of shows, plus Cirque du Solieil! I have never been on a cruise with better shows-HANDS DOWN. Staterooms were just a nice as the other lines, and I have been on two 7 day cruises solo for $650-AMAZING. AND THE $650 INCLUDES TAX! I guess if you prefer to pay $2000 in order to avoid hearing other passengers speaking French, Italian, or Greek, and want to be surrounded by obese Americans, then you should certainly avoid MSC.

You nailed it!!! I think the food on MSC is actually fresh healthy food vs the over processed food other cruise lines serve.
