Constant Land Uplift and Suspected Magma Inflow to the Channel Under Grindavik

We swing between optimism and pessimism several times a day, often pending on which scientists the media chooses to interview. Like it's very hard to see how this magma inflow into the dyke under Grindavik is developing now since the information we are getting are often misleading, and it's not making my job any easier since on the one hand I don't want to settle between scientists, and on the other hand I want to come up with different points of view, but there are just too many of them. So again, the perfect uncertainty.

When I first found this channel several years ago, three things stood out: The level-headed commentary that took what data was available, and applied common sense and reason to interpreting it, the spectacular visuals, clearly the work of a professional, and the warmth and humor of a man who cared about the people who would be affected by these geological changes. I'm so happy that none of this has changed over the years. By far my favorite view of what's going on in Iceland during these times of unrest.

Your videography is better than typically found on YouTube channels.

You are actually turning into an ambassador to the Icelandic way of life. It is not only the contents of your videos that are great. You also have to make decisions about the structure of the story you tell, about how you enter all the bits of information into the video, about timing, about the overall look and so on. And the way you make those creative decisions tells us something about the Icelandic way of thinking, too. There is curiosity, thoughtfulness, openmindedness, resilience, care, love for your country, worries - but not to an extend to let them ruin your positive attitude, a sense for beauty, for the contrast between action and quietness, and so many more qualities that create a picture of a people I really want to visit one day.

So difficult to make any plans under these circumstances, but keeping the people safe is paramount.

Love this guy, perfectly explained from the inside. Also for some reason him saying "With that im sending best regards from the volcano island, Iceland." Is so satisfying for some reason. Not tryna glaze but its facts

Your comment about a tourist lost in a forest reminds me of what a native told me on my one visit to Iceland: "If you ever find yourself lost in an iceland forest, just stand up".

This channel is probably the best, most concise and detailed Grindavik eruption news there is.

Not only looking at the geological news, but also the related human consequences. More please!

Great drone footage! Much appreciated by everyone. 👍🏻🇬🇧😎

Your video is gorgeous in 4K (especially on a 75+" screen/wall), smooth and clear. The narrative is congruous, the narration is soothing. This is exceptionally engrossing. Unique.

We try to come to Iceland once a year now. It is a magical place. I love the emptiness, the sheer uniqueness of it, and the tenacity and openness of the people we meet. Thank you for the huge effort you put into this channel. Much appreciated.🇬🇧

Thanks for being so objective and honest about the situation. Some channels are just sensation seekers

I absolutely love your video updates - so much more 'real' than some of the 'click bait' - thank you for the work you do, for letting us know the real situation, for the wonderful filming and for your individual style. Stay safe - my thoughts are with everyone there. Warm wishes from Shropshire UK.

Seeing this clutch of trees being called a "massive forest" made me chuckle a bit, as an Austrian, but then, there's probably a Canadian chuckling over our "massive forests", and an anaconda somewhere chuckling over Canadians. 🙃
Thanks for the news and the fantastic footage. ❤ Congratulations to the reforestation success. I would LOVE to see more reforestation for Iceland. 💚
What a sad situation for the Blue Lagoon this is.

I've been thinking about an Iceland journey in the past (might still happen), although not so much for the landscapes but because I would love to soak in every steaming pool (we're talking those declared safe), the more natural looking, the better. 😅💙

I visited Grindavik and the Reykjanes peninsula in 2015 during a vacation to gorgeous Iceland. I was charmed by the waterfront and its many pieces of public art. Best wishes to all residents as you wait to see what happens next. My heart is with you.
