It was his book "HyperSpace" was what won me over about him and physics because he showed us the universe with common language that anyone who can read would understand.

I have been waiting this for 40 years, It has gone "almost" this far many times...and mo farther. Ity has been said that repeating the same quest over and over after achieving no better results is the very deification of insanity. What makes you think it will suddenly work this time? You're MAD!

Hey, Professor! ITER is not "French". It is located in France but is being built for last 20 years by 15 countries! All big nations participate there.

Like the prof said, "This is too good to be true." Fusion reactors have been 20 years in the future for 70 years. But, the returns are so great people are working at it. Machines that operate continuously at the temperatures of the sun have considerable engineering problems.

When I was a professor at the City College of NY I used to tell my students to take physics with Prof. Kaku. Few did, but those that did were delighted. I have watched many of his YouTube videos and enjoyed each one. Physics is an important subject, almost as important as music.

They don't make it very clear in this interview but the breakthrough was getting closer to "ignition", the point where a hydrogen reactor gives off more energy than it consumes.

Instead of hydrogen plasma in magnetic whirlwind, they used a pellet of hydrogen heated by lasers. The process is hypothetically able to achieve ignition but this run only got to about 70%. As far as I know.

I love Mr. Kaku! He is wonderful at explaining things in a way that we can understand. I have several of his books and I truly enjoy listening to him speak as I always learn so much. A great man.

This National lab has a history of making announcements about its breakthroughs right about the same time it needs money. I miss the days when we had journalists that investigated. Now we’re left with clickbaiters yacking about with scientists who have stopped contributing to science and switched to selling books instead. Sad.

Is there a platinum iridium standard football field at the US Bureau of Standards in Washington DC?
