THE FIRST TAKE is a YouTube Channel dedicated to filming musicians and singers performing in a single take.

Episode 455 welcomes back SB19, the P-Pop boy band attracting attention from all over the world, after giving their performance of hit song "GENTO" in our previous episode.
1 TAKE performance of “MAPA”, which their official lyric video just reached 100M views, is a song co-produced by leader Pablo and Jay Durias of the popular Philippine artist South Border.
As the title of the song combines the words “MAMA” and “PAPA,” the song expresses love and gratitude to all parents, and will be performed in a special version for THE FIRST TAKE.

Honestly, from all the boy groups' performances I've seen, I can really say that when it comes to singing, SB19 is really the top 1. That's why I really hope they'll be recognized more internationally.

Justin is a goosebumps. He’s an excellent first attacker of the song. The intro is the most crucial part of the song. The timing is very critical I repeated it 5x but I don’t know what Justin’s signal how he started the song. And Justin has very consistent and amazing vocals. Bravo Justin 👏🏻 You gave justice to the introduction👏🏻🙌🏻

Stell is the soul of the song. The way he plays his curls and vibrato giving ‘a music to my ears’ vibes. 👏🏻 I really like that he gave an excellent second voice throughout the song. He’s definitely the angelic voice of SB19. Stell you always giving us an impressive vocals👏🏻🥹

Josh is always the vibrator of the song. He always gives this vibrant energy and vocals. I always likes how he delivers his verse - it’s very clean, naturally emotional and it makes me sing as well. 🙌🏻

Pablo of course the genius leader of the group. His raspy voice added more flavor to the song and overall vocals of the group. Also, his leadership energy that his group look up to makes the team collaborative excellently. Pablo, you are born to be a Leader. SB19 unites because of you.

And Ken is always giving us a secret ingredient performance. He’s always making us surprised with his lower deep voice that we wanted more. He’s like pulling us to his soul. 😂 Ken is a nonchalant/silent as they say but all I can see is a King with a good heart.

Overall, I’m very impressed when you listened carefully you will confused it feels like only one singer; literally their voice sounds harmonically the same. Congratulations once again to SB19 for always giving us your best. Hands down to the Kings of PPop👏🏻🙏🏻 You deserve every thing you have right now. 🙌🏻✨

Just in case somebody is unfamiliar with MAPA, this song is SB19's ode to parents/guardians who we all consider to be the ''maps'' of our lives. Mapa is the Filipino word for ''map'', and in this song it is also a portmanteau of MAma and PApa. It also is a play of words = MA (from the word 'mata' or eyes) and PA (from the word 'paa' or feet), as our parents served as our "eyes" as we make our way into this world and as our "feet" when we were just learning how to walk when we were little.

This is a perfect second performance. While GENTO showed their bubbly personality, MAPA impressed us with TWO V's: VOCALS and VERSATILITY. It is, then, rightfully appropriate to perform a ballad that will prove the naysayers that SB19 are not just one hit wonder and a fad who rely on autotune and tracks that are heavily-engineered. They are WORLD CLASS PERFORMERS who happen to inspire people of all ages. And they have the talent to impress people of all status and nationality.
