So... not as great as I was hoping, but just received confirmation on pricing. USD MSRP on Prime 9070 XT is $720, and 9070 is $660. The copium in me says flip side is at least it's lower than apples to apples 5070 Ti pricing, ergo 5070 Ti Prime OC at Best Buy is $940 now and sold out. We'll have to wait and see how inventory pans out.
EDIT: new data point- a viewer mentioned that Microcenter has these at the MSRP (550/600). So that’s nice. E-tailers have the markup.

Really enjoy watching these chill, easier to understand reviews, and you just confirmed what I was hoping, 9070 might be the way for us ITX enthusiasts, we're talking -100w compared to the XT and can be OC'd to get closer to its performance.
I guess it's time to say goodbye to my 4060.

You literally showed the only 2 titles where nvidia was the runaway winner in RT. There are several others where it was very close.

Great review! I went and bought the 9070 as it was inline with my budget and I really don't need an all powerful GPU for my typical PC tasks and gaming. I just want a good reliable graphics card that works and doesn't break my bank account, plus I've been supporting Nvidia for over 2 decades but their latest 5080 series shenanigans have kinda put me off, so I'm giving AMD a shot.

I was able to get 9070 (non-XT) for the MSRP of $549. And in the evening after work even. I feel some people were torn about the XT being sold out, but at the base price it was a no brainer.

appreciate your videos and focus on mostly SFF style cases.

You’re one of the few YouTubers who values the base model over XT for efficiency! Subbed

After a bit of sniping, ordered 5070ti for $1002 (tax included). And a day after, found asus 9070xt prime for $720 + tax (785 total). Easily canceled nvidia one. 9070xt Fits perfectly into my a4 h2o. Runs great, overall satisfied. Hopefully one day i'll be lucky to get mrsp 5080FE.

Thanks for testing the 9070 XT at 74% power. With the slight price difference it might make sense to get the XT and throttle it most of the time, then bump up the power limit for games that really need the extra RT horsepower.

Thanks for including 6800 XT numbers - makes it an easy comparison. Will be putting down cash on a Nitro+ at midnight - Looking forward to finally being able to raytrace!

Nice!

I have the sapphire pulse 9070, I got lucky and got an MSRP one on launch day, it's an incredible card and all that performance using only 220W is impressive.

First reviewer I've come across that actually prefers the base model to the XT! I personally managed to snag an MSRP non-XT Pulse during the frenzy to grab what was available, and while my initial plan was to return it once I could get an XT model, I'm starting to lean more and more towards just keeping it... it's just so compact, efficient, and punchy, that it feels like what a mid-range card *should* be, rather than the power-hungry hot-rod that is the XT.

That, and I think it also helps to take a step back, and remember that, XT or not, these are both ultimately just mid-range cards - they're extremely competitive in price-to-performance, yes, but the XT still isn't what you'd call a "flagship", and if one is truly after maximum performance, it might be a better idea to chill with the non-XT for now, and then put that extra $50 (more like $80 with taxes, anyway) towards a *real* flagship, like when the UDNA line is finally out.

At the end of the day, I don't know, I'm still deciding - but it is definitely nice to see a techtuber that genuinely prefers the "underdog" to it's juiced-up big brother, when the overwhelming majority of the reviewers tell you to just throw the extra $50 at the XT.

I really like the prime design, not for everyone but perfect for my SFF.

For those with a 2070 or 20 series:

Bro the 9070xt *_triples_* the 2070super in almost every single game except final fantasy 15. So good. Then doubles if not then 2.5x in raytracing, against the 2070s.

It is great to see AMD with competitive cards. They look like a solid deal. The power consumption of 9070 XT, especially for their 340 watt version, is a little concerning but nothing too horrible. Undervolting would probably help quite a bit, seems like. I really like my Prime card, I think Asus nailed it with these. The memory temps for 9070 series do seem high but I have heard that VRAM likes being hot and and it can be alright at some pretty high temperatures. Thumbs up.

You mostly won’t be able to find this or any card from any company around MSRP even when there is availability. The whole system of the card manufacturer listing in MSRP when they don’t have card models being put up as the baseline, but instead have all of these partners releasing partner cards, which they then have justification to hike the prices up… You might as well add 10 to 20% on whatever the manufacturer says the MSRP is going to be.

With that having been said, this is the best card at the price point

Not quite the performance suggested in their benchmarks but if you can get the 9070XT for its MSRP of $600usd, it will counted as a win!!!! I do not need a card right now, but if the price and stock holds into the near future, I may just upgrade.
