News Anchor Suspended After Appearing Sloshed On Air

An upstate New York news anchor has been suspended from her job after she was accused of appearing on air while drunk.

Heather Kovar, the weekend morning anchor for WRGB CBS-6 News, was borderline incoherent and slurred her words on camera, and looked disheveled throughout Saturday morning's report.

Kovar, who claims she was sleep-deprived after starting work at 6am, also got the weather man's name wrong, and gave a rambling round-up that viewers complained made no sense.

Aww I feel awful for her...regardless of what she is going through...she still went on air and tried. She is clearly struggling with something. Let's have compassion and sympathy for her.

If she's a professional newsreader and she turns up for work clearly half-cut then why on Earth did her Producer and the News Editor allow her to go on-air? It was unprofessional and damning for her to go on camera pissed but she might have an understandable excuse, or at lest some mitigation. Her Producer and Editor seem to be the ones who had a greater responsibility here... what's their excuse, and why haven't they been suspended? Is it easier to just blame the 'tired and emotional' woman here?

To be fair, if you are sleep deprived (not drunk) that's EXACTLY how you act. Anyone that's worked long hours with zero sleep knows what I'm talking about.

Did anyone bother to research before assuming the woman was it’s now ok to just jump to conclusions before reading?

The woman was NOT drunk, she was exhausted and grieving her father who had just died.

Slurring words and being dishelved in appearance isn’t always automatically someone drunk. Exhaustion, malnutrition or many other medical concerns cause cause this too.

Please remember to research & get information before making an assumption about another human cause there’s often more than meets the eye.
