Here's another video about maximising loudness for live setups. This time I show you how I use the Elektron Analog Heat as a master compressor and saturator for my live setups. I thoroughly show you how to set the level, how to do proper A/B testing, and examples on how to properly set everything to get a mix glued and peaks under control.

Wow I just got an analog heat mk2 off of reverb now that mk3 is released. I really like the saturations and distortions but it’s kinda noisy- I probably need to gain stage a little better and not just max everything, but I was just turning it on for the first time soooo…. Anyway, thanks for all of the information, tips, and ideas.

Any plans to do a new video with the Analog Heat + FX? I’m currently using this on my master insert for the live rig, but maybe ditch it for the SSL Big SiX bus compressor. I mean, its built-in. But I can’t really over cook in the same way I could with the Analog Heat. I like the idea of using this to create hard drive moments. I make electro, so getting nasty seem like an occasionally fun way to drive.

I have a Syntakt that is known to be Analog too, could you tell me if the sound quality changes if I want to enter the DAW through USB or if I do it through line output to my audio interface?

Thanks for this explanation Dave of the AH! I can make a lot more out of my AH then how I used it so far. I knew it, but this will help. I don't have a spectrum meter, but the amp meter on the AH give the same information isn't it?
