When I was in Art Center, the department chair asked me if I ever heard of motion graphics? At fourth term the changed all my classes to motion design. I had that typography in motion class in ACCD, Karin brought Michelle in to critique too. My project was really lame with one or two good moments. That was also the time when I realized that some people just shred no matter what and I wasn't one of them. I did gain a solid foundation in design and the language of design. I am a solid designer with a 20 year career in motion design. I think the term you were looking for is "figure ground ambiguity".

I didn't grow up with 3d, but dreams ps4 got interested, and currently i use womp 3d.Womp 3d is easy to use, and proves you don't need complicated software. The industry needs to change to allow people who are completely new to 3d to be accepted more.the industry seems to have this elitist mentality.
