Shturcite (Щурците), meaning "The Crickets" in English, was a prominent
Bulgarian rock band formed in Sofia in 1967. They gained significant popularity during the 1970s
and 1980s, often referred to as "Bulgaria's answer to The Beatles." Their music evolved from early pop rock
and beat influences to incorporate hard rock and progressive rock elements in their later years.

The EP is notable for its mixture of Western rock
influences and Bulgarian cultural elements, a combination that helped Shturcite
stand out in the music scene of Eastern Europe during a time when Western-style
rock music was still emerging in the region. It marked an early milestone in their
career, which would continue to flourish in the decades to come.
