In fact, I was once a Congress grassroots worker (I'm not in politics anymore, right now working as an MR) and I can assure you that the mistakes of Congress that you're pointing out, including the false presumptions that they've made, are all 100% correct.

I think BJP will reduce a little bit but there is no alternative, congress is a very poor distant second, besides there is probably 2.5 years for BJP to mend, assuming its able to vaccinate majority this year and I believe that will happen because the world is scared about mutations (and Indians being very well travelled people) and will support India eventually on vaccines.

So many suggestions to congress, but not one of them advices them to actually provide good governance and development to the people where they have state govts. One of the big reasons for PM Modi ji's victory in 2014 was "Gujrat Model" and promise of good governance which people want!
