You are the Lord of Grosvenor Estate, located on the outskirts of Durenwol. The town of Durenwol is dependent upon the people of the most esteemed Grosvenor line, the founders of this lovely country town.

But recently, You fell ill from a strange disease, and had to depart for Yharnam and their legendary healing blood. After your return, your wife Cecile found herself fascinated by the tales of blood, beasts, and otherworldly creatures. She obsessed over them with borderline mania. Worried for the sanity of your beloved, you forbade all mention of their time in Yharnam, even when Cecile begged and pleaded to hear more.

A year passes, and you depart to the town of Braildorn after hearing of terribly familiar descriptions of horrible beasts plaguing the town. But when you return, you find Durenwol to be hollow and dark, and a foul stench of blood is in the air. The few survivors speak in fragments, muttering and cowering in their homes. They speak of awful experiments and abhorrent monsters roaming near Grosvenor Manor. They beg and plead with you to help them, claiming that shortly before the nightmare began, Cecile locked within the manor, forbade anyone from leaving, raving about the power of blood.

You sought to leave it all behind, but the Nightmare has caught up with you once more. Looking to a dull lantern in the road, you know that the night has come once again.

There's an undeniable majesty to this song, a sense that something once great, then fallen, has risen again with a vengeance. You've always done an excellent job at capturing the spirit of the Soulsborne series, but with this track you've gone even beyond yourself in both character and quality. I have to keep reminding myself that this isn't actually a part of the masterpiece that is the Bloodborne score, because it matches it measure for measure. Not just my favorite song on this album, this has to be my favorite track of yours overall. Thank you? That seems to most appropriate thing to say. Thank you for creating something so special.
