My favorite few minutes of television each week. Period. These kind of set the tone for my Sundays.

I visited Walden Ponds a few days ago, and it was a magical experience. The moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of peace, as if I was truly home. The serene waters seemed to invite me in, and the whole place had a calming, almost otherworldly, beauty.

If you grew up in Concord, you know the truth about this video. If They want to clean up a dump, look no closer that the CCHS which sits way closer to Walden that the airfield. This school was originally built on a dump in the 60’s. (I can only imagine what lucked beneath) We were some the first students, then a few years ago they tore down that school, a modern open campus and built a school that looks more like a prison right on top of the dump again. Brilliant! My family had land next to Hanscom Field, it’s a tiny airfield. Military planes have been flying aircraft out of the airfield way before I was born. These small planes don’t have the same environmental impact as the KC135’s and such flying there. I’m calling NIMBY on this. Across from Walden Pond was an actual Dump, and that’s probably worse for the area than anything (It was pretty nasty), and way worse than any aircraft ever will be. Next to the dump, and more directly across was “Walden Acres” a pretty run down mobile home park from the 60’s. No doubt that land has some stories too. Walden definitely needs protection, I’m all for it, but really it’s become a tourist destination, more people and more people. It’s possible that might be the real issue, as always “Follow The Money” and the truth will appear. Politicians at work here!

Thanks to Don Henley for finding, “Walden Woods Benefit” to preserve this landmark back in 1990. If it wasn’t for that movement, this would’ve been long gone by developers

Beautiful. Too bad they built a highway right next to it. You now have noise pollution.

Like the cups of coffee my English Lit teacher always had as she gushed over the subject. Someone put chalk in her coffee once- she was allergic to chalk. Used the overhead projectoe
