For anyone listening to this for the first time, this is not the original album. The original was about half this length on vinyl. This is the extended cd version that came out afterwards. It is called “F#A#Infinity” because the first side of the vinyl starts in F#, the second side in A#, and the end of the album has an endless ambient loop, hence “infinity”

"Gotta have opposites, light and dark and dark and light, in painting. It's like in life. Gotta have a little sadness once in awhile so you know when the good times come. I'm waiting on the good times now."

The car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
And a dark wind blows
The government is corrupt
And we're on so many drugs
With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
And the machine is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The buildings tumbled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
And pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said: "kiss me, you're beautiful -
These are truly the last days"
You grabbed my hand and we fell into it
Like a daydream or a fever

We woke up one morning and fell a little further down -
For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my wallet
And it's full of blood

Got huge 28 Days Later vibes from this album when I first heard it. Then I discovered Danny Boyle listened to this album the entire time he was making that movie.

One of the band came in to get coffee before their show in Halifax. She had her own mug so I gave her the coffee for free. You really just pay for the cup. She thanked me by putting me on the guest list and me and the fry cook and I went right to the show from work and spent all my tips on $2.50 Moose Light's.
I had never seen a concert that wasn't just songs before. They had screens and other stuff. We were both super stimulated and just rocked and rolled all night.
Thanks blonde girl in this band. You made a hicks whole world open up.

The spoken intro to this album is so terrifying and creepy it truly disturbs me.

The first track is something that should be set to some kind of psychedelic horror western, it's amazing.

This is pure beauty. To think mere humans are capable of creating such heights, makes me happy.

when i was in afghanistan, i used to listen to this album pretty much every night. i'd be on top of this small mountain on guard at any period of the night manning a .50 gun emplacement with f#a# playing softly from my laptop. there's nothing else to do on guard since you really have to be 100% aware 100% of the time, so i'd just fall into the music, like a daydream, or a fever.

This is one of those rare albums that will, quite literally, chill your spine. It's superb

14:31 is so beautiful I can’t even describe it. It’s like watching a town burn to the ground while someone’s trying to tell you everything’s going to be okay. I love it so much especially since it plays right after one of the darkest openers to any album I’ve ever heard

When the strings come in at 1:40, with the "..It went like this." Chills. Every time, without fail.
