In this video I’m reviewing different ways to summarize employee pay with quartiles and how you can do that with a scatter graph in Excel.

Knowing when to use a scatter chart vs. a bar chart can take some planning but is well worth it to get the results you want.

Scatter charts work great if you have various data points, such as each employee’s position in range. Organizing a scatter chart so we can review which dots are falling within each quartile, can make it even easier to visualize and convey any trends.
