Do You Have a Single Discoloured Front tooth?

If you a have a single discoloured tooth, it stands out among all the other normally coloured teeth and spoils the entire smile. Most of the times a Single Discoloured Tooth is due to some Trauma to the tooth many many years back. Apart from making the smile unpleasant, if left untreated the tooth can get infected causing an abscess (pus). In such cases, a Root Canal Treatment (RCT) would be necessary. In order to mask the discolouration, the tooth may require a crown/ veneer/ tooth whitening.

Thank you for sharing this knowledge. My front teeth was broken long time back when I was in school. No pain no swelling nothing was observed for around 15 years. But afterwards my teeth color became slightly black and sometimes I was feeling sensitivity to cold n hot drinks. After observing such symptoms, consulted a good dentist and the only cure was to do RCT and thus did it. It has been 4 days now when RCT was done and now waiting for crown. I just hope that I can eat everything as usual and there will be no more expense for my teeth treatment.

I had an injury to one of the side teeth when I was a child. That one is more yellow because of the dead nerve. They gonna make it white from the inside out soon. I just need to wait till the lockdown is over.. I’ve always gotten really self conscious about it. I can’t wait until that’s done.

I have one brown tooth in front because my other front tooth has a cap/crown. The natural tooth became darker over time while the capped tooth, of course, did not change color.

To whiten tooth my dentist cut a hole in the tooth installed whitener inside and resealed tooth until
tooth got whiter.Then removed whitener and resealed tooth.

Nice explanation madam.... But i have a doubt.. If a dead tooth or tooth with no blood supply is recognised as a foreign material by our human body.. Then guttapercha in rct Or an implant must be foreign.. Any foreign material, though if it is from other humans will be rejected by human body.. In almost all cases our immune system fight against these rcts Or implants as they r foreign and forms infection around foreign materials in the form of puss.. This results in compromised immune system.. And other side effects.. Could there be any other alternative other than having foreign materials..

Nice Video Ma'am, I got a similar situation where my front tooth is discolored after a resulting trauma happened 20 years ago but there is no pain at all, two times RCT attempted on it but no success, my question is if I left it as is it, will it pass infection to other tooth ?

Hi just came upon your videos very informative just subscribed.
Just a question Dr I had porcelain veneers on my four front teeth and recently had them changed for composite veneers but when my porcelain veneers were removed the dentist said one off my tooth was slightly grey she done an X-ray and said it looked fine .
But I keep thinking what if the tooth is dead I have had no trauma or pain what so ever I would be very grateful for your opinion.

One of my front tooth has discoloured due to trauma at child .... nowadays I started getting pain in that trauma tooth ... I think my tooth is weak so I have fear that while doing RCT it might fall out due to drilling pressure ... I need your suggestions
