We're too light on drunk drivers. It's viewed as an "accident" and they get 4-10 years. They're forcing people to play a deathly game of "avoid the drunk"

I can't say that I haven't ever driven while drunk, I was very stupid in my younger days... but when my mom was doing it with my kids in the car, it totally infuriated me to the point where I don't even drink any more. My mom was an alcoholic. I refused to be like that. It is a choice. I knew that if I caused the death or injury to another person it would haunt me for the rest of my life.

Maybe paying her children restitution for the rest of his life would teach him driving drunk doesn't pay. Apparently from comments he's done this before. What it going to take to get him off the road, slapping his wrist didn't work. Keep him on Antabuse for a good long while too. My heart goes out to those babies and her family and friends.
