As you may know, we're going on holiday in a few weeks, and as we've never done this with the kids before, I've been really worried about keeping the kids entertained! So i thought I would show you what we're planning to take on the plane to entertain our 3 year old!

I really hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful, and if you have any more tips then let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for watching

Pipe cleaners are a godsend on flights. You can make all sorts of things with them. My daughter would make bracelets and distribute them amongst the passengers 🤣 kept her entertained for hours!
You could also glue a Lego board to a Tupperware lid and put a selection of Lego’s in the box to build onto the lid (does that make sense?)
Good luck, it’s easier than you think it’ll be. The experience of flying is often entertaining enough.

I’m a flight attendant. I strongly recommend as many snacks as you can squeeze in and roll up fleece blankets as it can get really chilly sometimes on long flights

I'd pack a spare pair of clothes for just incase moments x

Take a comfort item from home. Planes are big noisy tin cans that hurtle trough the sky at speed and some kids are not particularly comfortable on their first flights. A teddy or blanket from home can help ease that anxiety.

Just a warning about the headphones, double check how loud they are as he may not be able to hear anything over the plane engines if they are very quiet!

Kate the aeroplane tables are quite small, I think the dominos are going to be constantly falling on the floor, which are then difficult to keep picking up. How about a mini etch a sketch or a small travel snakes and ladders that is self contained. I remember my 2 boys were the same age when we had our first holiday abroad. Try and give Archie the window seat I remember my son James spent ages looking out of the window at all the clouds in awe and looked out for other aircraft flying by. XX

Perhaps a favourite soft toy if he has one? I'll definitely be putting one in my daughter's bag (I think she's about a year younger than Archie) 😊

If you give him the wrapped gifts on the plane ride there, he will be super invested in the idea of more gifts on the plane ride home. Maybe you could tell him that each day or stop (or whatever you decide/makes sense) for which he is on good behavior, he will earn another gift for the plane ride home. That way, he will be good and excited by the gifts on the way there; he will be on his best behavior during the trip; and, he will have extra excitement for the trip home bc he will have earned even more gifts for the ride home, on top of all of the lovely gifts he got on the way there :)
Good luck! Safe travels! Xo

When we took our four year old he had a pull along rucksack, he pulled it with pride for most of the time. Save some of the contents of the bag for the return journey. And be careful wrapping gifts, customs might ask you to open them, check with airport x

Good advice from you to take crayons or pencils instead of felt tip pens, no lids to fall off, I’d just limit the number to ten as you don’t want 48 pencils being knocked to the ground, elastic band will hold them together less bulky than the box. Take a special teddy/blankie/comforter if he has one. Sit him at the window as very entertaining to look out. Clothing wise, a jumper/cosy cardigan and socks as planes are cold. Also it probably won’t be as bad as you think as there’s lots of new things to keep him occupied. Exciting times. Enjoy it x

Love this! Have a fab time! Some tips I’ve used is to pack things in plastic bags (like food bags things) so have a change of clothes and everything you’d need for that in one bag, snacks in another bag, toys in another, any drinks plasters tissues etc in another so if you need to grab something your not rooting around in the bag.
Another one is lolly pop for the take off and landing.
They’ll be fine, I was so nervous with our daughter on her first flight and she was great! Xx

My toddlers loved playing with those gel window clings on the tray table, they also had fun with some crayola model magic and some small cookie cutters ( the clay isn’t sticky or messy at all). Finger puppets, post it notes, books with flaps.

Play dough is great to keep them entertained along with a cheap tea set from pound shop. I then kept plastic cutlery for her to chop the things up. She wasn’t allowed to see any of the bits in her bag until we got to the airport so they would be new to her. Also Tiger has lots of cute small bits that you could add in if your looking. Also bubbles on holiday are great distraction (not on plane of course!) I found this worked a charm when my daughter was little and we had to wait for our food or in line.

Great video, lots to keep him entertained! I just done a 18 hour flight with three kids! One being 18 months! I also done a vlog showing what I put in the carry on! Maybe take a blanket as it gets chilly on the plane. Take as many snacks as you can fit in, kids don't like being strapped in- our flight had a lot of turbulence so was strapped in a lot! We had no problems taking on liquids, they saw we had a baby and it was in baby bottles. We took two beakers of water and a bottle of milk with no problems. Hope the flight goes well! X

When we flew with my little one for the first time he was 2. We took a cheaper version of a trunki and packed some spare clothes for all of us and some toys for once we were there. It was also good for going threw the airports to keep him amused and close and if we were stuck in the hotel he could play with it in the room. It meant if luggage got lost or if any one was sick then we knew we had a change of clothes. In one of our rucksacks/travel bags we had a small gym bag full of snacks and toys/surprises which was easy to pull out from underseats or hang on seats when on the plane. Hope yous have a good holiday x
