HOUSE TOUR | Inside Teddie Garrigan's Maximalist Dallas Home

On today’s episode of Homeworthy, we’re bringing you inside Coco & Dash co-owner Teddie Garrigan’s worldly Dallas apartment. Growing up in a military family, Teddie spent much of her childhood exposed to the wonderful architecture of Europe. Her experiences traveling, coupled with her namesake aunt’s approach to design, spurred Teddie’s love for interior decorating and hospitality.

Living in a high rise apartment posed a unique challenge for Teddie in bringing elements of nature into her home. Vibrant greens, scenic landscape murals and pops of animal print fabrics mimic the environments and cultures Teddie grew especially fond of while living abroad. A collector of decommissioned museum artwork, each room is thoughtfully layered with beautiful paintings and prints - some of which Teddie has painted herself. A soft white paint coats the entire apartment, shining a light on Teddie’s assemblage of antique furnishings, family mementos and her husband’s vast array of books. Enjoy!

There’s truly nothing like the home of a person who loves books! So warm and inviting! I loved every square inch.

I'm speechless. Thank you so much for introducing us to Teddie Garrigan. I love her unassuming tactics for furnishing a home with antiques and modern pieces. She's the first person I've come across on your channel who's style even remotely comes close to the venerable Bunny Williams.

I love the huge wall of books with the paintings on it. I really love the homes on this channel where the maximalists create cozy homey spaces full of things that have memories and meanings for them.

Teddie, you might not know this, but your Venetian style secretary belonged to Iris Barrel Apfel and I dusted it so many times on the 8th floor of the D&D building at her company, Old World Weavers in New York City, back in the late 80’s. It later went to auction after it did not sell. Iris had it repainted in the coral and green motif over in Long Island City in her workshop and warehouse where she and Carl stocked fabrics and antiques. Seeing it in your home was like seeing an old friend. I am glad you love it. You are such a charming and adorable woman. I love your home. Cheers! Dean Yoder

Such a pleasure meeting Teddie. She is a lovely, lovely woman who has created a beautiful, cozy and ever so interesting home. I appreciated it when she said that her home made her feel "super secure". I've never heard that before from a decorator but I can imagine walking in her front door and immediately feeling that way. I really enjoyed this visit.

I love maximalist homes. You have to have a very good sense of taste to put so many things together in a beautiful way and keep changing from it time to time matching up the colours and pattern. A true reflection Of your talent .

I am also a maximalist. Sometimes I wonder if it’s all “too much.” But I really like my home full of beautiful things. And like Teddie, I do like my “smalls” to make fun vignettes. Thank you for opening your doors to us Teddie, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

She reminds me of Bunny Williams. Doesn’t look like her but mannerisms, sound and style are similar.

The thing I love most is Teddie! She seems like such a down to earth, grounded human. Her humor is so subtle, but she’s naturally funny! I like cozy minimalism so this home is the opposite of what I would feel comfortable living in. That said, I absolutely love how Teddie he has decorated her home. She’s made it a haven for her, her husband and family. You would never know it’s a high-rise apartment! It shows like a beautiful, stately home. I really enjoyed all of the stories family history. I watched this video twice so far.😆 I appreciate Teddie sharing herself and her home with us.💜

Teddie Garrigan is delightful. She’s apparently wealthy, definitely sophisticated, but completely down-to-earth. I’m going to figure out how to pursue decommissioned museum pieces! Great tip.

Lovely home. I agree with her bathroom philosophy, my husband and I use separate bathrooms and I like it. 😊

I love Teddie's home! It reminds me of when my mom gave me all the china and tea cups and how keeping the most precious items near to you to pull out whenever family or friends arrive to greet you, is important not just to add to a collection but to hold on to for memories like a photo basket! Thank you for sharing!!!

I love that we’re walking into a nude sculpture. I am Dallas also. My father was a self taught Dallas artist and mother was a writer/ teacher. I’ve grown up with antiques, art and eclectic family. Love your home.

This is now one of my favorite home tours. Love Teddie’s curated but comfortable style. I’m stealing her basket of loose photos idea. I live in the Metroplex also but was not aware of her store.
