1961 Lotus Elite (Type 14) (the original pocket-rocket!)

These are really are rare and highly sort after Lotus’s… With a incredibly ahead-of-its-time construction (stressed skin glass fibre monocoque chassis) they weigh in at only around 500kg! Added to this was a sculptural body with a drag coefficient that most modern cars even would dream of (0.29) these went and cornered amazingly well (even with a fairly modest 75 bhp, as standard at least, Coventry Climax engine). I was really taken just as to how beautiful this car was to look at it was jewel like, brilliant to see at Castle Combe…
