5 April 1969
1969 Scottish League Cup Final

The final was originally scheduled for 28 October 1968, but was postponed until April because a fire destroyed part of the south stand at Hampden Park.

Celtic lifted their 4th League Cup in a row in style, with goals from Wallace, Auld, Craig, and a hattrick from Lennox. Late goals from Hibernian's O'Rourke and Stevenson took a bit of gloss off the scoreline. On that same day as Celtic won their 49th major honour, the 50th was virtually handed to them as Rangers fell to defeat at Tannadice in the league. Celtic would go on to complete the Treble beating Rangers 4-0 in the Scottish Cup Final.
