I was pregnant. I started spotting at work. My first pregnancy I had a rare condition placenta previa. As soon as we closed up the store my friend and i went to the ER. first I was asked if I was sure I was pregnant. (I had already went to the doctor for test and such). I said yes. They ran another test. The doctor told me my baby had died and my body had absorbed it. Now I am scared as it is but of course just left me sitting there. No sonogram. nothing. I finally said I'm going home. by then my emotions are high, loss of my child, doc calling me crazy, nobody explaining anything. 3 days later. I went into labor. but did not know. I cannot describe the pain. medic guy puts heating pad on me said it was 'cramps from the miscarriage". People again I cannot describe the pain I had gotten so my doctor showed up first thing did a sonogram and found my baby girl was still with me. My doctor was a blessing not once but twice in my life. and what's more he did NOT treat me like I was crazy. Love that man. He'll never know how much.

Back in the '80's I worked as a CNA at a nursing home. Back then, we had 5 people living there that had cerebral palsy, which isn't allowed nowadays. One of our gentlemen, R, was having a difficult time. He became feverish and started having difficulty breathing. Eventually his family allowed us to send him to the hospital, getting all the standard imaging tests done, and a mass was found in one lung. He was taken into surgery where it was discovered he had: one tooth, one chicken bone, one spoon and a penny. True Story, as I still remember the butter chewing we all got.
