Biggest CRUISE NEWS Updates Affecting US Cruise RESTART PLAN /+ Princess Cruises, Norwegian updates

THE BIGGEST CRUISE NEWS UPDATES FROM THE CRUISE INDUSTRY THIS WEEK! With cruises restarting in many countries, how cruises will restart in the United States remains the biggest cruise news story. We have updates from the major cruise lines, as well as information from CDC and CLIA, and other stakeholders. There's even some optimistic news, as things are changing for cruise lines (for the better).

In this video, we share major updates from Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, as well as Virgin Voyages, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Viking and Crystal. Carnival Cruises continues to wait (as far as we know) for a restart to cruising in the USA.

We also have 1 cruise line that is selling cruises beginning in July 2021, from Florida, USA. Will this happen? Did this cruise line get approval from CDC and go through the Conditional Sailing Order requirements? This is an interesting piece of cruise news that I'm continuing to wonder about.

Hanging over all of this good news for cruising, is the battle between the cruise lines and the CDC over the pathway to restarting cruising in the USA. Beyond the cruise lines, there is mounting pressure from local government officials, the cruise line association (CLIA), the American travel agent's association (ASTA), cruise port officials, cruise ship and industry workers, cruisers and now, mainstream media.

Thank you to Martini from The Curious Lens of Martina from Argentina (found on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram) for permission to use her photos of the humanitarian efforts in St. Vincent. The La Soufriere volcano erupted in St. Vincent, leaving residents needing medical supplies, food, and transport to neighbouring islands. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Carnival Cruise ships were all close enough to be able to respond with help. Martina's photos show first hand what the cruise line's encountered and helped with in St. Vincent.

Let's talk about what has to happen and the timeline which is needed for cruises to resume in the United States, from Florida cruise ports, Texas and more.

Thanks for watching! Did you notice I said Hello in French? "Bonjour Les Amis" means Hello my Friends. Please leave a comment with your thoughts about these latest cruise updates.

26.6% startup, another thing cruise ships can begin to think about is the hosting of sports events on their ships. Basketball, diving, maybe some thing interdisciplinary and r game shows and the list is really endless. Having high profile people and providing support to issues like the volcano also put these ships in a beautiful positive light

Excellent video! I think the fall is more realistic to sail from the U.S.

I am retiring from full time teaching to cruise more. My superintendent is working with me so that I can be on a cruise and still be available if needed. I love the idea. I wouldn't be working all the day long, but I could cruise at times that didn't match school vacations 😊

No, I would not like to work at sea, I am retired and just want to enjoy myself on a cruise. I woudl like to see better wi-fi on more cruise lines. Princess is exellent and Viking is also excellent, but, some others not so much. I don't think that the CDC will be very helpful on getting sailings going by July, about a 1% chance. I think it is more likley for late Fall such as late September and October.

I have family in Jamaica and I've been trying to plan a cruise with them, but I've never been able to align flights to other Caribbean countries (Bahamas, Barbados) that are ports of departure. So, your quick mention of Norwegian cruising out of Montego Bay was news to me! I had been following RC's newest Caribbean offerings, but again, flights would double the price of the trip, but now with this Norweigan option, my flight down there would be the only extra cost.

What I'm trying to say is thank you for mentioning it!

I am a retired diesel mechanic. I do not want to work on massive ship engines. I hope they never need me too. As for cruising out of USA in July? Same chance as a snowball in Bermuda. I will cruise out of a Caribbean port in September. If the Covid-19 numbers don't go sky high. I have the most FCC with NCL and will go with them.
The courts in the USA are very slow. I believe it is more of a threat than a realty. Cruising will have long restarted before the first case makes it to court. Thank you for what you do. love your program.

I would not work on vacation (since I am retired don’t guess it matters), but my granddaughter would love it. She does online education. She would be free to travel during school.

Another great video! I think cruises have a good chance at starting up in the US around August or September. 30 % chance in July.. The CDC needs to take a good look at how successful the cruise lines have been operating in other parts of the world. Not sure why they havent or why they arent saying anything if they have looked at it. As far as working while on a cruise.. I think I would be to distracted to intoxicated or to full to do that.

The current PHE declaration expires on April 21, 2021, fingers crossed it expires and the Conditional Sailing order would end. I'd guess 60% chance of limited cruising begin in the USA in July 2021.

Is there any one place you can go to determine which of all the home port countries you mentioned are open to travelers from USA?

Being retired I DON’T want to work on the ship. But we did a cruise with Viking and really enjoyed the fast WyFi. We were able to watch YouTube with no problems and it was very nice.

Prior to retirement I would work while on a cruise. I found it was easier to take care of issues while traveling rather then have more issues to deal with upon return. Are employers expecting employees to “work” while vacationing? I think so if there are time sensitive issues.
