HTO orthofix

This video illustrates how the genu varum is corrected by HTO. So that the arthritic changes can be corrected by transferring the force from one side to equally distribute to on either side of joint.HTO is the short form of high tibial osteotomy.It is done in medial compartment osteoarthritis in adults and also can be done in younger patients to correct the genu varus deformity.It can be done by two methods.Following osteotomy the bone can be fixed by plate or Orthofix which is an external fixator. The advantage of the Orthofix is it can correct the alignment more perfectly.
