Another fine specimen from Yamaha. We've seen the LS6 before but not this sunburst version. Fab guitar!

The body depth of these is also deeper than most smaller body guitars, which I think adds a great deal to the tone of this model! I love mine!

I bought an acoustic Yamaha FS700S about 6 years ago. Never disappoints me. I have dreadnought acoustics that are nice-sound good BUT I keep coming back to my FS700. This LS6 reminds me a lot of my FS.
Great review-thanks!

Thanks for the review. I bought one of these two months ago but in the natural colour. It is superb and I can’t praise it enough. It sounds and plays great as you would expect from Yamaha. I like the burst colour as well.

Thanks very much...I do fancy one of these as a replacement for my aged fg800...I think the smaller body might not be quite as noisy as the dreadnought...Hope the sniffles have gone...Cheers...

The big difference for me in comparison to other Yamahas, like the similar Fs830, is the nut width. This is the first Yamaha I have seen that has a 1.75” nut width. The fs830 and the other fs700, 800, come in at like 1.68”. Small difference but it does feel better for fingerstyle playing.

I am getting an LS6. I have an LL6M A.R.E. that is great.

Nice. I saw a Lag guitar recently that has effects right on the guitar. It sounded really great. For that guitar you don't need an amp. It was $1500, but you get a lot for your money. And if you need to you can plug it into your amp.

Yamahas are always well made and priced well. I have bought the older electrics and they are VERY cheap barely used and were sold in COSTCO and Wal-Mart long ago very cheap. USED, they are extremely cheap and are very nicely made with good electronics. LS6 is about $800 new and for $200 new an Oscar Schmidt with electronics cacn be plenty of A/E for nearly any guy (get a good setup).

I kind of hate there's no volume adjustment ....
