Viktor Hovland shoots 9-under 61 | Round 4 | BMW Championship | 2023

In the final round of the 2023 BMW Championship, Viktor Hovland had a scorching back-nine and posted a 9-under par 61 to claim the victory.


The PGA TOUR heads to Olympia Fields Country Club, just outside of Chicago, for this week’s BMW Championship and the second leg of the FedExCup Playoffs. This week will determine the final 30 players eligible to compete for the TOUR Championship next week at East Lake in Atlanta. Lucas Glover will look to make it three wins in a row on the PGA TOUR after capturing both the Wyndham Championship and the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week. His recent successes have pushed him from No. 49 to No. 4 in the FedExCup standings. Patrick Cantlay returns to defend his back-to-back BMW Championship wins after last week’s playoff defeat to Lucas Glover. This was one of seven top-four finishes this season as he looks to make it a three-peat at this event. Rory McIlroy played well for his T-3 finish in Memphis last week. He’s claimed top-10 finishes in all of his last seven starts and with three FedExCup Championships to his name, he knows what is required this time of year to outlast the best players in golf. Other players to look out for are Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood.

Huge round for classy great kid. This incredible round could be the launch that takes his game to superstar level. He's so genuine and likeable. It's nearly impossible not to root for him.

He arguably only hit one "bad" shot which was the 2nd shot on the par 5 that he left in the rough. But then it didn't matter because he almost holed his third and still had a birdie. Just an incredible round. 7 birdies in 9 holes is nuts.
