"Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" is a Negro Spiritual that recounts the biblical story of Joshua, and even as far back as the 1800s, gave a strong sense of hope to African-American slaves that their freedom would soon come. From researching its origins, learning the Moses Hogan version, having Débo Ray adapt it for Women of the World, to finally performing it on stage; this song has evolved into medicine music for us!

The " Moses Hogan version of battle of Jericho" is a song of eight parts and it takes whole choir of talented choristers for a proper rendition of the song but these 4 ladies have nailed the piece like hell and give a big respect them most especially the barritone lady.

Hello, I'm a student at Carthage College, and I just watched you perform in our chapel. I just wanted to let you know how much I was blown away by your performance, and I regret not staying behind afterwards to tell you this in person. So instead, I'm writing this here in hopes that you'll read it.

Singing "The Battle of Jericho" was an impressive finale, but my favorite song by far was "The Joke." When you sang that song, it was so breathtakingly beautiful that I was literally in tears by the end of it. I didn't even cry after watching Endgame in theaters, but hearing you sing "The Joke" was enough to make me cry. I'd love it if you could post a YouTube video of the 4 of you singing that song, but if you can't, I understand. Thanks for the amazing night!
