Charles Bertram, the English entertainer, made a great use of it before the turn of the century & has been generally identifide with the stratagem. It is a useful sleight against the spectator who insists upon pushing his card back in to the deck wherever he chooses.

Good one .... what if we bend the deck instead of spectators selection ? I mean that all the other cards will have a bend but spectators selection would be the straight one and spectator won, t find anything fishy with their selection too
