Even if the film succeeds in highlighting the themes and humor you two explored, it's special to learn the history and subversive nature of this poem. All the cultural depictions of women during that period were fascinating. I also wonder if the elevated importance of horses influenced Tolkien (Shadowfax and Snowmane).
