3DR Solo | The best Drone For $349 | First Aerial Shots | Review

If you already own a GoPro and are thinking about getting a quadrotor, I would highly suggest the Solo. They are selling out pretty fast. At $349 with gimbal, backpack and spares, they are unbeatable. The DJI drones are great, but you will not find them even close to this price. If you don't own a GoPro 4 black, then this deal is just ok. I would probably buy the Mavic at that point. This is the first aerial footage I have ever captured. I already knew how to fly RC planes and quads, but with the 3DR flight controller doing most of the work, I think anyone could fly it. You just need to make sure you have adequate GPS reception. I was flying fast, and not trying to get clean smooth shots in this footage, but it still came out great. No filters were used on the gopro. I have not used any of the smartshot features yet.

the Solo is a great bird. I would recommend even if you don't presently own a GoPro. I was able to get a used GoPro on eBay. the total cost is still less that the Mavic. I would recommend the Alfa antenna. it is give you great range.
