ANCIENT 1930 Otis Fensom Traction Elevators at Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello, QC

These are the AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, ANCIENT, ORIGINAL & TASTEFULLY MODDED Otis Fensom Traction Elevators at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello, Montebello, Quebec, Canada. This hotel is located in between Ottawa and Montreal, and was built in 1930 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, and is known as the World's Largest Log Cabin!!!!! I stopped here on my way from Montreal to Ottawa, and this place is truly AMAZING!!!!!! Very Rustic!!!! The Elevators here were just a small part!!!!! But were AMAZING!!!!! 2 of the Elevators featured in this video, which are Elevator #1 and Elevator #4 are COMPLETELY ORIGINAL Otis Fensom GATED Traction Elevators from 1930, making them 87 YEARS OLD!!!!!! They are REAL TIME MACHINES back to the 1920s or 1930s, the cabs of them reflect the rustic log cabin feel of the building, they run like they were installed TODAY, and they are in SUCH GOOD CONDITION THEY RUN AND FEEL LIKE THEY ARE BRAND NEW!!!!! The Outside Manual Doors which was MADE OUT OF WOOD, And the Jail Cell style Automatic Bar Gate was AWESOME too, along with the Black Buttons!!!!! The Relays were also EPIC TOO ALONG WITH THE BOTTOM DRIVE TRACTION MOTOR!!!!!!! Elevator #2 which is also seen in this video was modernized back in 2014 or 2015 (It was being worked on when Canadian Elevators filmed here in late 2014) with Otis Series M2 Fixtures, New Doors and Electronics/Controllers, but the Motor and Cab was original!!!!! So this elevator was TASTEFULLY MODDED, AND STILL HAS SOME 1930s CHARM!!!! Also, Notice the INTERESTING Bilingual French/English Otis voice on that elevator!!!! This elevators while nicely and tastefully modded and still fun to ride, I hope they don't mod Elevators #1 and #4 (#3 was Out of Service). I'm in contact with a lady who works at this hotel and she doesn't want the two original elevators getting modded, but she isn't sure they will be modded or not. Let's hope not!!!!!

Anyways, this was supposed to be Andrew's Birthday video, as it was yesterday, August 9th, and he turned 40 years old. This my present to him (and all of you really for how AWESOME you are, I'M ALMOST AT 700 SUBS!!!) This is DEFINITELY a cool place!! Next time I am in Quebec, Canada, I will stop by this place on the way to/from Ottawa!!  I hope that the other elevators aren't getting a mod soon...

Good job finding this awesome gated lift! I do not know if the automatic inner doors used to be manual. It doesn't look like they are any mods to this lift.

If your going to come to Quebec you need to learn to speak French. The people in the elevator are speaking French to you so you have to speak it back
