Since the shots, I've stopped differentiating between evil and stupid. The effect is the same. In fact, stupid can be more dangerous than evil.

Future problems in the 2030s: food, you guys are bang on. Get some land, grow your own, get ruminants, save seed. Great show!

I’m from an Italian background and I lived at home in Australia with my parents and siblings until I got married in my late 20’s … rent free, beautifully fed and well educated… not so much at school but by observing how my hard working immigrant parents went about things. It was the best thing for me… I worked 2 jobs saved most of my money which enabled me to buy my first home at 23 which I rented out. I also traveled through the USA and Europe for almost a year back in the early 80’s … which was the best of all experiences and life lessons. And, all because I was lucky enough to live at home and establish a base before I got married.

I LOL’ed when you picked Thailand as one of the countries with the best morale, because just before you said it, I was thinking “he’s gonna say Thailand” 😂 I go there often and I know it very well.

Previous king Bhumibol was the popular king, beloved by (almost) all Thais. Unfortunately he died a few years ago. The current king Vajiralongkorn (his son) is actually very unpopular in Thailand, being seen as a decadent spoiled playboy who spent most of his life living in Europe. Check out all the scandals surrounding King V. His sister is now the royal that the Thais love.

I just cashed in some airmiles on a flight to Buenos Aires in November…now I’m considering having a look at Paraguay while I’m down there. Thanks to your comments!

(Think you’re wrong about Trump… he’s the last bulwark against communism/statism that we have left in the USA. Glad to see RFK Jr. throwing in his lot with him.)

Love these podcasts, I always listen to them.

3:50 some people are really entitled. I am grateful to hear two intelligent gentlemen discuss varied and important issues. Please ignore the stupid comments and keep up the good work.

All these statist have such a short memory. Do you want puppet on the left or puppet on the right? Always a selection between two horrible people. I'll never forget what happened in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 💉💉💉 ++

38:02 Well said, Matt. I’m guessing Family Fortunes is sitting somewhere on the shelf behind you. I also appreciated what you said about how you treat your children and the suppressed anger of parents earlier on. I realize this podcast is Doug’s take, but I really enjoy the times where you contribute insights from your experiences. It’s a good complement to Doug’s takes.

I was Mr encyclopedia or walking encyclopedia love when Doug reads from the encyclopedia. My parents bought a set of world book in 1960. Used to read them all the time.

In 1969, in L.A. on Pico Blvd., near Westwood they had an Army Navy Surplus store. They sold .303 Enfield's for $17. Didn't have the $, so bought a Carcano for $13. One of the biggest gun dealers in the USA was Golden State Firearms in Pasadena. Rettings sold full auto Mac's for $200 in the 70's. Kings Gun Shop on Pico near Hauser, got robbed one day. They killed the owner. After that gun stores started to wear guns. Maybe it was the late 60's or early 70's. That was how it was.

Nature instills hatred within us as a means of preservation and survival. Without hatred we would stay in situations that are unhealthy or would kill us. The blissninny (It's god's will, accept it all, compassion for all.) is at peace with all...and will stay in situations that will eventually kill them.

The apparent lesser evil is the greater evil. The apparent lesser evil will necessarily draw decreased scrutiny, thereby allowing evil to fester unchecked.

I got honey preps up to 110 pounds. Lots of honey is adulterated nowadays. It is a battle trying to find decent honey. Store it where it is slightly warm. If it gets just a little too cool over the years it starts to crystalize.
