Part 1- The Anti-Ableism Series - be a better ally to disabled people

Day 1
Now that Reels can be longer than 30 seconds, I’m going to upload days 1-3 so that you have access to the full series here.
I started this Anti-Ableism Series to share bite-sized (15-30 seconds) ways that we can learn, unlearn, and grow together as allies to the disability community. This was inspired by my friend @nicoleacardoza’s @antiracismdaily (you can subscribe at the link in my bio), but I renamed it because I don’t have energy for daily… and don’t forget to be anti-racist in your anti-ableism work too.
Video description/transcript: Tiffany is a Taiwanese American woman wearing a bright blue sweater. “Welcome to the anti-ableism daily. In this series, we’ll be highlighting ways that you can be a better ally to people with disabilities. Unlearn any associations that disability equals bad, that disability equals less than, that disability equals broken. If you’re in doubt, use disability or disabled, either of those are fine. Avoid euphemisms of the word like a differently abled because that further perpetuates stigma that we think disability is a bad word and also just highlights ableism and discomfort that we have around just using the word disability.”
