He works for Lockheed Martin, and we currently have our own small business. He does a lot of contracting work for various clientele, but he doesn't engineer programs for himself aside from what he does for our small business.

Who told you it's a waste of time?? The average salary for a software engineer with less than 1 year of job experience is between $55-70k (just do a Google search). And as you gain experience your salary will increase exponentially. My father is a senior software engineer with about 15 years of job experience and has been making over $100k since 2005. This career will make you money, and as a former retail slave I can tell you it's one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable careers in the world.

It doesn't matter too much. At the time I downloaded this software, only 2010 was available, and I didn't even check to see if there was a new version. So use whatever you'd like but I will be demonstrating only the features of Visual Studio 2010 express

Just noticed your other videos have much better audio. :)

Good informative video, but I think the audio could have been better. It's a bit distorted and you could definitely use a popper stopper. ;)

Wow, what a coincidence! There may be Objective-C tutorials coming up soon by one of my friends, and I may be doing iOS tutorials once this is done. Not that I am very knowledgeable at iOS, but I will still be putting up tutorials for that once this is done.

My advice is to not spend much time on learning Objective-C before going into iOS programming, but to rather just download XCode on a mac and start coding for iOS, and learn whatever objective-c you need on the way.

I have a legitimate question here, i'm young, in high school, and Im dedicated to learning computer/software programming and plan to go further to be my career. Many people say its a waste of time and many say you can find very high salary jobs. Im very confused, If this is going to be my life I don't want it to go to waste.
