Gapcheon (甲川) is the first tributary of the Geumgang River and is a national river that originates from Daedunsan Mountain and flows north toward Daejeon before flowing into the Geumgang River. Gapcheon Stream merges with Geomcheon Stream and Eogok Stream in Nonsan- si , Chungcheongnam-do , and becomes a national stream by joining Dugyecheon Stream in Yongchon-dong, Seo-gu . Geumgokcheon and Maerocheon then join Jinjamcheon in Wolpyeong- dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and then Yuseongcheon . It joins Tandongcheon in front of Daedeok Bridge and joins Yudeungcheon in Doryong-dong , Yuseong-gu. It then joins Beopdongcheon and Gwanpyeongcheon and then joins Geumgang in Munpyeong -dong, Daedeok-gu , Daejeon. Tributaries classified as national rivers include Daejeon Stream and Yudeung Stream , and the remaining tributaries (Geomcheon Stream, Eogok Stream, Dugyecheon, Maero Stream, Jinjam Stream, Yuseong Stream, Tandong Stream, Beopdong Stream, and Gwanpyeong Stream) are all local streams. Wonjeong-dong , where Gapcheon Stream flows , is where the scene of catching fireflies on a bridge in the movie Classic was filmed. Wolpyeong Park was designated as Dosolsan Mountain and its surrounding areas between Gapcheon and Yudeungcheon in Daejeon. The area is 3,994,734 m 2 (about 1.2 million pyeong). Among the Daejeon-si sections of Gapcheon, Gasowon-dong and Wolpyeong-dong have well-preserved ecosystems, where 34 species of fish, including the endangered fish species Mihojonggae and Landguiger , and 59 species of birds, including natural monuments such as kestrel and mandarin duck , were discovered. This section of Wolpyeong Park was selected as one of ‘Korea’s 100 Beautiful Rivers’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. Dosolsan Mountain has a well-preserved terrestrial ecosystem and Gapcheon Stream has a well-preserved aquatic ecosystem, creating a wetland ecosystem. Wolpyeong Park has the largest number of pine trees , and there is a colony of oak trees such as acacia , oak , oak , and oak , as well as broad-leaved trees such as silkworm , teal, juniper , and Japanese sycamore , as well as vines such as briar , migratory vine , and dogwood . It's growing. In the wetland, the Gapcheon River, which flows in a serpentine shape, creates rapids and streams, where frogs, toads, magpie vipers, and turtles live. In addition, it is a spawning ground and habitat for the Miho species, a natural monument, and about 10 types of freshwater fish that are special to Korea. The Ministry of Environment has designated and protected late firefly habitats. Also, salamanders and snails live in the valley of Dosolsan Mountain. Gapcheon flows south of Doryong-dong , and the Expo Bridge, one of Daejeon's landmarks, was built over Gapcheon. The Expo Bridge connects Doryong-dong and Hanbat Arboretum.
