Using the IMPETUS Solver Hyndla is able to carry out large-scale deformation simulations of complex components and structures.
In this project our simulations showed that a 20 ft shipping container impacting a subsea gas export pipe did not cause a critical breach in the structural integrity of the pipe, saving millions of dollars in potential risk reducing measures.
IMPETUS is a system for non-linear explicit finite element simulations that provides unique accuracy and robustness. At Hyndla we are experts at using this software to conduct accurate and detailed simulations. Potential applications include simulations of new products, components and solutions prior to/or instead of expensive full scale testing or deployment, wave impact assessment, impact assessments, short circuit assessments and many more.
