MINI Aceman is a small, 5-door electric crossover. MINI boasts “clever use of space” and a whole range of fresh possibilities in terms of vehicle design that the all-electric drive opens up. Is there anything even vaguely clever about the Aceman?

Seems like the market for such a small battery vehicle is small. It's a city car I guess. But here in Toronto many people only own 1 car and who wants to try and go on a 3 hr drive to the cottage having to constantly stop for charging? Agreed about the rims! 2 thumbs up!

I was so enthusiastic on the Aceman launch, that I immediately ordered one of the last petrol Clubmans. Now that is a practical, fun and beautiful car.

When are you reviewing the Cooper JCW? Love your reviews!

I agree to a point! Yes the mini Aceman is basically a 5 door Mini Cooper.. same range.. but great dynamic btw.. mini countryman is a leap of faith!! Is it really that big%? I think not! It drives extremely well… has the biggest battery for a mini.. so why not? Best range mini absolutely! What’s the problem?

I like the car overall but not the dinner plate screen. Looks really odd and I rather have a screen in front of me not over the middle. The curved dual display in new BMW 1 series is much nicer.

Like you Marek I owned a mark 2 Countryman. In my opinion, the size of he mark 2 was perfect: you could comfortably sit four 6' adults. It had a decent boot (I managed a holiday with 3 adults including a large mobility scooter no problem) and could fit my bike inside with the back seats folded flat. The new Countryman is now too big. And the Aceman they tried to fill the gap with is too small. They should have left the Countryman the size that it was. It wasn't broken, so they fixed it. Now I don't like either the Countryman or the Aceman. I'd take a used Countryman mark 2 over both of these newer vehicles. The older car still has a gear lever, buttons for heating and radio etc. The newer car is less engaging and harder to use its functions on the move. And did I mention, it's the wrong size now. And as they killed off the Clubman estate too, there is now no Mini in the line=up that I would want to buy, even though I've owned two Minis in the past and loved them. I think that's a shame.

I tried to buy a Mini and was messed around for 6 months without ever getting a definite delivery date.

What a great car to get out of and forget as soon as You can. Not even for free. Thank You for sharing what to avoid.

I have an Aceman SE sport. Mostly I love it. Not so keen on the look of the lower spec models. Im in the UK range is fine for most as long a you aren't deiivng long distances everysay. Most realistically 200 mile range. Size is just right for me like the original countryman. The new Countryman is too large and out of proportion. I don't like the look.

Seems like a car no want asked for or wanted. Compromised in too many areas.

Don’t like the design, not practical at all in terms of space. Door pockets ?? Why bother. Even the centre armrest looks cheap. I think there are cheaper options on the market that look better and are more practical. If I had a choice between your countryman and the aceman, I’ll take the countryman.

The current BMW group design language reminds me of the early 2000s "experimental" phase they had. I hope the next generation of cars will be "manlier". The rims are 🔥🔥🔥 indeed!

I really try hard to like the Mini models. But the closer I look at them, the uglier and more superfluous I find them. I find practically nothing good about this model. The design language is completely flawed.

Thanks for the review, Marek, and your honest opinion. This car really made me laugh, especially when I saw the price tag, I couldn’t help but LOL! This is yet another example of the utopian concept surrounding electric vehicles.
Mini has always had a quirky, premium appeal, but the price tag on some of these new electric models can feel a bit... ambitious. I can't stop repeating that this whole electrification push feels like a big joke, it forces you to adapt to the technology, when it should be the other way around.
With EVs, you're often paying extra for the tech, brand image, and early adoption factor, but sometimes it really seems like manufacturers are just testing how much people are willing to pay for a 'cute'-electric car.

The original Mini, was, well, mini. I must confess I don't really like these recent models.
