I love how Toby Fox just seemed to effortlessly captivate the world with this game. It was YEARS after its initial release that it finally got released in Japan. The japanese were like “alright, the West has been going crazy for this game. Let’s see what the big deal is.” And then it became just as beloved over there as it is here. Hell, they’ve got their own Undertale memes that don’t even exist in the west. Hillbilly Sans is only a thing in Japan, and only because of how his dialogue was translated.

Crossing cultural boundaries like that isn’t easy. Hell, Marvel movies are considered niche in Japan. But there is something so universal, so human about Undertale that you can appreciate it no matter your background. I know we often joke “haha funny sans Undertale meme” but the whole phenomenon surrounding this game is actually really beautiful.

That's it. That's literally it. That's my entire impression after watching this animation, my tiny little brain can't even comprehend the amount of effort put into this. All I can say is thank you for letting me experience the magic of Undertale once more in this boring quarantined life of mine.

man....the Asriel hugging scene and him saying "I don't wanna let go" is one of the saddest scenes in gaming history :)

You don’t exactly realize how horrific the Flowey fight in the Neutral Run is because of the lack of visuals about what’s actually happening to Frisk. Then you see this kind of thing and think “Holy shit…”

NCH's portrayal of Omega Flowey's transformation was terrific in displaying its horror in size and gore.
But you did just as outstanding to portray the torture of the actual fight.

You know, every other attempt I've seen for animating the Megalovania fight would have Sans being far less hands on, dodging blows instead of actively countering them. And going against that grain makes this version... dare I say, even more impressive? It was already blowing the others out of the water on a technical level, but dear lord it's cemented itself as the Apex Undertale Animation.
