The amount delusion the Ubisoft Guillemot Family has is beyond reason. They want to retain creative control but that’s what caused them bankruptcy to begin with. They have ultimately made so many horrible decisions over a long tenure of time and with how many examples for them to follow or not follow they still reject the reality of business. There is no excuse and it’s almost unavoidable that the company will just die in the end if they don’t hand over complete control. So sad but almost deserved.

I’m not going to lie, Ubisoft make the best open worlds but they tend to feel empty. I just returned to Division 2 and it’s better than it was in the beginning stages.

Considering Tencent is the company in charge of the Chinese version of this game. I can only imagine what direction they would push our version of the game towards

Ubisoft should be putting 90% of their assets in their main titles. We would already have a new division. ghost recon assassin Creed, rainbow six. But they kept trying to make games they thought people wanted. All the other games they came out with the past few years should have been the side burner games that the other 10% were working on.

Ubisoft are still hiring people for Assassin's Creed Shadows/ Rainbow Six franchise / The Div 3 and other unnamed projects for multiple locations such as France, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, China, United States.

If the Division 3 is not due out till 2027 I hope we have a lot of good stuff coming to division 2 between now and then to keep the community interested and involved in the game

People should also know that, along with owning Elden Ring, Tencent are the majority shareholder behind the company that created Warframe.

Hoping that they put some new leadership in at the studios ASAP.

Funny how the US government has announced Tencent to be a company that works for the Chinese military. isn't it. I wonder how that will pan out for US customers.

If they partner with a Chinese company, I will no longer purchase another Ubisoft project.

Gamers don’t understand the cost of conceding to the CCP but I do. This is deeper than dollar signs and business relationships.

Ubisoft is cooked. Stick a fork in it.

It will be interesting to see what the EU and the French government will think about this...
Edit: after checking the reports, it's good to know, the 'Tencent and the Greedy family owned 25.4% of shares and y % of voting rights' are a sum. The Greedy family owns around 20 - 21%* and tencent is the rest, 4-5 %. The voting rights are 20%* and 9%.
*Most of them are owned by the family ltd, and a small percentage are the family members individualy

Just so your all aware, Tencent are also part owners of From Software. You know, Eldin Ring. So they do push for solid good games. Which should be encouraging

Tencent has a massive mobile presence and aims to monetize mobile gaming. Interesting to see what they do with some titles.

Can't wait for the characters in Tom Clancy games to be changed into characters that look like they're from Marvel Rivels.

"If they partner with a Chinese company, I will no longer purchase another Ubisoft project." doesn't matter... If this new venture results in a new and improved Ubisoft that creates the games that gamers wants, your stance is irrelevant. Acutally regardless of what they do... your stance is irrelevant.
