When I heard "you won't save me this time." I kept hearing the "SAVE ME!" scream in the background...this is too much for my heart to handle.

'it won't get much better'

this line hits me so hard. Just looking at him back then at 17, he had no one. He sat alone just writing these songs not knowing people will ever relate or listen to them.

look at him now, he has a beautiful wife and an amazing best friend who both have made him a happier person as you can tell with the new album blurryfave has a more positive twist than vessel or the self titled album. I'm so happy for him. He's now writing songs to show that we aren't alone in whatever we're going through, no one can say he isn't talented or inspirational. If it wasn't for him and Josh I wouldn't be here right now.

I wish I discovered TØP or Tyler earlier on, because I love ALL their songs. It would've been awesome to be a part of their growth.

Anyone ever think the state of mind Tyler must be in to write this

I love the fact that he isn't perfect. His voice isn't crystal clear, he doesn't have the greatest voice but you don't hear it, you feel how true his lyrics are and how much they mean to you. Emo over, and now your regularly scheduled program.

This song hits me too hard bro. My cousin died last September, and when he said, "But come this September, you'll fly on your own." Dang.

"and my own two hands will start bleeding again" I had to think about this lyric. it made me cry knowing my idol, Tyler Joseph, is singing this. it is a amazing song. but that one lyric is just so sad. This song is sad. The first time I listened to this I was 10...now I get it..and now I cry everytime I hear this lyric.

remember to stay alive my frens.
you are loved.
it is worth it
don't give up

"You once were, oh so close"

Is close the closest star?

I know most lyrics to all tøp songs, so whenever there's a line stuck in my head I just keep singing until I say the name.

Hole In The Ground: *"I try so hard to fly, but my heart won't go very far."*
Anathema & Blasphemy: *"Empty sky, no way that's me, cause one half of my heart is free."*
Taxi Cab: *"Sometimes we will die, and sometimes we will fly away."*
Isle of Flightless Birds: *"I will fly with no hope, no fear."*

Is it a coincidence that a lot of their old songs, more than mentioned above, include things about "flying" in the lyrics? Hmm.

Theory:
When the songs says "but come this September you will fly on your own, but it wont get much better" Tyler is around 17-18 so he is getting ready for college in the September and he got a really good basketball scholarship (read in an interview), which would be the letter he got. At college, Tyler must "find his home" or his purpose in basketball. However Tyler's passion isn't really in basketball, its in music, so "it won't get much better". Tyler doesn't want the scholarship to go to waste so he tries "so hard to fly, but my heart win't go very far" his heart won't go far because his heart isn't in basketball anymore. Tyler's hands will start bleeding because he isn't creating or fulfilling purpose. The whole rap is kind of straight forward, he makes plans that seem solid but will take him where he doesn't know. In the end, the floor will turn to a hole in the ground because he is mentally dying due to not creating/finding his true purpose. The end, its just a theory but that is my interpretation. Sorry if its confusing :)

Oh man, absolutely love the vast majority of his lyrics. One of the few people I can really relate to. Listening to him as himself as well as TOP has actually brought me closer to God. When I learned that Tyler was religious I loved his music that much more. Thanks for this...I mean it.

OMG I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING:
*Slowtown* : "Walk through my door, just so I don't fall through the floor"
*Hole In The Ground* : "And the floor will turn to, to a hole in the ground"

I feel like someone else already commented this so sorry if I stole your comment

this song always makes me cry..and I have no idea why..maybe because it says "but come this September" just reminds me of starting junior high 2 years ago for the first time and having no friends for 4 months..I would literally talk to no one for 4 months...and the part where it says my own two hands will start bleeding once again just reminds of all the stuff I did to myself..I don't think I have depression but there is definitely something wrong with me..ah you know what
..no one will even read this or just skip right over...

"I walk through my door just so I don't fall through the floor"
"They will lower me into, to a hole in the ground"
"As u watch him fall through a bleeder my trap door" (trapdoors are holes in the ground)
"I don't wanna fall, fall away"

Can someone tell me what's up with Tyler in falling through holes in the ground
