Types of Positive Displacement Pump:
A positive displacement pump can be further classified according to the mechanism used to move the fluid. There are three types.
Rotary-type positive displacement.
Reciprocating-type positive displacement.
Linear-type positive displacement.

Dynamic pumps are one category of pumps under which there are several classes, two of which are: centrifugal pumps and special pumps.

Basically pumps can be grouped into two general categories, Positive Displacement Pump and Dynamic Pump.

At the first you are telling that the pump moves liquids or gas but pump always handles incompressible fluid i.e liquid while compressor handles compressible fluids i.e gas
