Physiotherapy lecturer Paul Townley presents and overview of the biopsychosocial model as used by manual therapists for assessment and treatment. The model looks at the interconnection between biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors and specifically examines how these aspects play a role in topics ranging from health and disease, to human development. Over the last 30 years or so, the model has become an alternative to the biomedical dominance of many health care systems.
