Endgame Content in GW2... Erm...

One of the first videos i did looked at endgame content in GW2. That was over a year ago. Today we examine what to do at level 80 and completing the personal story. We step back into GW1 and see what were some of the different things we could do. Challenging content.

We ask why the GW2 community is asking for this type of content. What can we do in GW2 right now? Ermmmmmm....

You are honest and just. I wanted to have fun with GW2, I had alot of fun until I got ascended gear and nothing more to do, which didnt take long. Now im preparing for HoT which I got for 30€, made a new account for me, leaving my lv 80 chars and skins, trying to level up my guardian so he can become a dragonhunter when HoT hits. The other account I might give to a friend, so we can play together. That procedure caused me to have fun in GW2 again. Its fun for me to do the story again, exploring the maps before moving to the next and taking it slow. I miss my ranger, but I forgot that the reason I started fresh was to get from 1 to 80 again, having fun again, dont mind the 30€ as long as HoT brings some nice challenging stuff for me, a friend and my guild.

i remember how excited i was to read the changes of what was comming in gw2 but i quickly realised that a gw2 with gw1 mechanics like dual class, holy trinity, a new kind of underworld and good old deam deathmatch like arenas would have been a waaay better. i could spend hours figuring out new builds to do hard content solo or duo with a friend.

I feel like working to get as many achievement points as possible is also a good post-game content, because it gets you involved in PvE as well as WvW and PvP.Although, I feel like as soon as you get to 5K ap, there is nothing much to do except to create new characters and wait for expansion!

As much as I love GW2, I have to agree that there really isn't much end-game content other than fractals and legendary weapons. I do really hope that's something A-net is aware of and is working towards.

"Become so elite they could do it solo"

Well I did  solo FoW runs and you didn't really need to be "elite". Just some specific armor and specific skills to survive. I don't even remember what classes you needed, I think a 55 monk could do it and a warrior build could run it.

You did have to be careful as certain mobs that disabled could still kill a solo'er.

Two levels from 80 here on my first character; this couldn't have been timed more appropriately!

Very good video. I feel exactly the same.

I believe that since Guild Wars 2 was a much bigger game than GW1 was at launch. With 5 different races to choose from, 3 different factions and even a little branching storyline (meaningless as it may be). While Guild Wars 1 had only one race and no branching story except in Factions. Anet didn't have as much time at launch to develop hard content. And in the end they never really got to it.

Perhaps it was their love of iteration. Or trying new stuff like the Living World, Living Story and Fractals. I believe that after that, Anet has realized that old school expansions were the to way to go after all, and started to work on HoT. So they started their LS2 while monetizing gemstore skins more so they wouldn't go under during this time.

There's a lot of 'ifs', 'maybes' and 'perhaps' in my theory. It's a personal feeling and nothing more. So don't take it too seriously guys.

I myself believe in almost every aspect GW1 gameplay was much better than GW2, not because GW2 was bad, but GW1 provides better mechanics and challenges. GW2 is just nice graphics and best movement/jumping.

Is it worth me buying gw1? having not played it, all these expansions, extra content etc etc looks VERY confusing. If i was to play, which/what should i buy? i dont want to sink £££'s into it though as i'll probably pick gw2 up again when the new expansion comes. Love your videos, keep it up!

I really really hope they one day ill fix the dungeons of gw2. A dungeon IMHO! should be atleast 15 min long! Even in a speed clear! And a few longer like 30-40 as you said for gw1.
To say they mastered the hard content is probably true for gw1(I did not do end game content in gw1, I was young and bad at the game :b) But for gw2 so far they have not mastered hard core content. Obviously the game is very different from gw1, thankfully! I hope we get the reveal of Challenging Content very soon. Its the thing I am looking the most forward to! Hope it will be able to keep me in the game even in times with next to no content as we experience now. Right now I dont really do much other than dailies :/

Yeah, as we told in your last video, GW2 is not lacking endgame content per se, only the PvE side: after Dungeon Paths, Fractals 50 and World Bosses there isn't much more challenges for a group of friends, and that was GW1's strenght. I sure have fun doing lot of other stuff like achievements, PvP, WvW, playing the TP (i really like it, even if money ain't a problem) etc etc, but
CHALLENGING.GROUP.CONTENT
yeah we miss it.
I'd really like to be smashed and punished by difficult foes because the group didn't come out with the right strategy, because i've missed my blinding granade or because we haven't pushed enough CC to stun him and so on. On a side note, i'd like it to do not be lenghty: difficult is fun, long and tedious isn't, so i'd settle on a fractal run lenght max.

I've much faith too on Heart of Thorns, and I'm sure something sweet is coming down the road: let's hope it comes soon(TM) :3

You didnt even mention the ''Hard Mode'' in GW1. Something that really makes all the low level content worth playing again :/
