COVID-19, God's Sovereignty, & Eternal Life

In this video, we are going to talk about the coronavirus (COVID-19) from the vantage point of the Biblical worldview. How should we understand pandemics as Christian? Where does God stand in relationship to disease or other "natural evils"? And what has God promised us that can help assure our hearts during this time? By understanding the sovereignty of God and promises of eternal life, we can prepare ourselves emotionally for any pandemic that comes our way, COVID-19 included.

One clarification here. I believe in the gifts of the Spirit (such as healing), and believe we should be praying fervently and faithfully for protection and healing for ourselves. We should pray, and pray with expectation, but also have a background understanding that it’s ultimately up to the sovereign will of God and we aren’t guaranteed 100% healing every time on this side of Heaven. It’s not a “promise”, in the same way we are promised eternal life, and therefore it shouldn’t be the ground of our hope and peace, but healing is something we should be praying faithfully for.

A couple of years ago, when I would do my routine commute to an unfulfilling job, annoyed with the drivers I was sharing the road with; annoyed with having an unfulfilling job, in my spirit I would have this feeling to stop complaining. I had this overwhelming feeling that one day, the normalcy of commuting to a job and all the other routines of the world would eventually cease. Afterwards, my complaints would immediately turn to gratitude. A couple years later, that overwhelming feeling has become a reality. The last few weeks, sadness appears when I think of where we currently are and where we are headed. However, tonight, it was placed on my spirit to say a prayer for the world, a prayer for all to turn to Christ for salvation. Once I said this prayer, that sadness immediately left and PEACE entered. Immediately afterwards, the spirit told me, "No more sadness. It is now time to celebrate! It is now time to rejoice! Soon you will be going home!" Since last night, I have had this overwhelming feeling that the END is closer than we know.

I do believe that God permits things to us to bring us closer to him especially unbelievers. My mother always told me if you don’t come to the Lord willingly you’ll come through pain. This couldn’t be any truer with the coronavirus. I believe even the medical field workers who aren’t believers are coming to him now seeing all the deaths currently. I been praying for all involved even the believers who are sick are saving people from their bedside to doctors and nurses to believe in Jesus Christ. God is amazing on how he operates to speak through people. ✝️

I'm so grateful to God for showing me how life is precious. I never wanted to be here because of depression and loneliness. Just deep pain rooted in me and I've always yearned for a home that's not on earth. But I have 2 kids and I want to be here for them. I cant imagine leaving them all alone. They are 15 and 13 years old. I am so grateful for God letting me see that I do want to live now. I want to be here for them and see their lives flourish with the love of God. Now I understand what He must feel like to see us choosing to stay in a dark place when He loves us so much to want to help heal us. I love God so much with all of my heart.

I was watching a Jewish YouTube channel by Corey Gil-Shuster where he asks Jews in Israel questions. Their description of what they deem as the Messiah sounds a lot like the Anti-Christ. They even believe the temple will be rebuilt when the Messiah comes! Scary to think they will think the Anti-Christ will be the Messiah and will be initially deceived before the veil is lifted.
