As an Indian, the biggest problem you will face is which region of India you want to experience first😅.

India has so much variety that I would say even 5/6 visits aren't enough to see get a brief idea of the country's regions and spending just 1 day in each region won't give you the idea if what its really like.

Anyway wherever you go barbs, I hope you seriously enjoy your experience.

You probably have experience with this elsewhere and/or heard this before, but keep at least these in mind for wherever you go in India:

1) Don't eat anything that is not warm nor drink anything outside of bottled water. You WILL get sick one way or another if you do that. An exception might be some sweets, like barfi, jilebi, and whatnot. BTW, if you go into South India, be sure to check out the achaars and know you will get rice dishes (as opposed to Northern India which has more bread/nann). If you wanna go cheap, stick with dosa. You might eat some poori or idli.

2) Get all your shots and take as much malaria/dengue/whatever meds you need.

3) Be sure to be sleeping in a mosquito net at night. If not, at least be near some cooling machine and/or cover yourself up completely (and I am mean "pull your socks over you pants and with a hood up"). Oh, and don't forget having a swatter, some mosquito-repellent incense sticks, and some cream to avoid getting mosquito bites..

4) Watch out for any rickshaw or taxi drivers (or anyone else for that matter) who try to rip you off, just because you're a foreigner.

5) Make sure the place you're staying at has some candle you can light, in the event electricity runs out. Also, I dunno if your other trips had a hole in the floor for toilets, so keep that in mind. If you do, probably boil some water for washing down there, brushing your teeth, and other basic hygiene stuff.

6) You WILL run into beggars (seriously, at least 1 out of 7 Indians are this). Don't know how your experience will be with them, but something to keep in mind.

7) Always keep in mind of the weather and the trains. Sometimes they go hand-in-hand.

Come to Karnataka and also visit Northeast, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhyapradesh cause all these are underrated tourist places but you'll be content and blessed by the beauty if you do visit.
