I was thinking while watching “oh no! Where’s the foundation-type makeup!?” Then realized you don’t know them, impossible to color match 😅 but hey, they can use the gift cards to find the right one! This is incredibly sweet that you do this.

I applied for Angel Tree this year and in the application they didn't let me write in anything except one most needed item. They had two very limited drop down lists to choose from for two items and a third drop down list for a "favorite theme" which I'm guessing would include makeup for teens. I'm guessing that's why their lists were very similar. I'm sure they'll really appreciate all the extras!!

I have never participated in the Angel Tree through Salvation Army, but I do however pick out a couple families that are going through an especially hard time, either through sickness or job loss. I start shopping right after Christmas every year...that's a great time also to pick up things on sale of course.
My family knows my husband and I do this, so their ears are always open to a family in need, either through their Church, or work.
I have a tree that stays up all year in a spare dining room...we gather gifts through the year, put them under the tree, and there is Always someone in need of those gifts.
There is nothing even close to the joy of giving to a hurting family, in my opinion,

My daughter and I always participate in Angel Tree! I choose a teenager, and she has always chosen a girl her same age at the time- because she knows what she wants!

I just started participating again. My 8 year old daughter picked a toddler girl to buy for and my husband and I picked a family that would like family board games. I found great deals at Walmart for both families. You just sparked my couponing. I have not done so in a couple years so we are going to start doing that so we can bless more families next year. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been doing 2 Angels per year for over 20 years. I always matched the ages of my own 2 kids. I usually get a mix of clothes, toys and little things too. I buy coats/gloves/hats and other clothes on Clearance in January. Then I choose my Angels based on the sizes I have from the Jan before, usually middle school aged nowadays. Then I buy the “wants” on Black Friday (online at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Children’s Place) like toys, crafts, small electronics, which I finished today! I also pick things up through the year like jewelry, chapstick, etc. Like you do. I love shopping for the Angles, probably more than my own family 😂

I did the Angel tree for the local Salvation Army. I also volunteered on the days that they set up and distributed the gifts. I quit after I and all the volunteers were told to take out the gift cards and give it to the Salvation Army staff. When asked if the family was going to get them when they collected their children's gifts I was told no. That I was to replace it with other items as the Army was going to use the gift cards for running their business. I said we did not have teenage items to replace the cards and the staff instead replaced them with young child toys. I was enraged and quit. Talk about theft., I now give directly to the child/family. Something people should think about as the organizations want the gifts unwrapped.

Amy! I’m so happy this video is on today, I have the day off and am cleaning and getting gifts together. I watched you last year and you inspired me to get tennage girls this year, I don’t know why I never thought to pick them before but I didn’t. I picked out two that wanted make-up, bath sets, sock sets, etc. you so inspired me with the video last year I e been keeping an eye out for cvs makeup kit deals I used to pass up bc. I wouldn’t use them and got an amazing robe/sock set deal from Victoria based on what you got last year! Thank you for the videos! i think little kids are what we tend to think of as easier but with all the cvs/Walmart couponing all year it actually only took me 30 mins or so to get the Rubbermaid container out and get their baskets together:)
