Some patients with GI tract conditions (such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or a blockage) will have to undergo either an ileostomy or colostomy.

An ileostomy involves creating a new opening from the intestines to drain into a pouch outside the body, while a colostomy creates an external opening for waste to pass through.

As a nurse, it’s important to know the differences between the two to give them the proper care.

Thank you so much I'm going in to get a camera up my yep you know in the morning I already know I am getting my bowel removed so will have permanant stoma .can you tell me what happens with my Asus as I never asked that?

My wife has an Ileostomy since 2014. It is permanent. She gets a little mucus discharge from the rectum every now and then which is no problem. This morning there appeared to be a little blood in it. Is this a serious issue. Today is Saturday so we can't get ahold of her doctor till Monday.

Just took my exam today and the computer stopped at 85 question (fyi this is the new gen NCLEX) and right after i got home i recieved an email from pearsonvue regarding the completion of the exam. I tried the pv trick and got a good pop up. Tried it multiple times and still got the same result.
I use the 30 days subscription of simplenursing app as my main review materials. Now i'm waiting for the quick result 🙂🙏
